Boreal Books, an imprint of Red Hen Press, was established in 2008 to publish literature and fine art from Alaska. The mission of Boreal Books is to bring Alaskan writers and fine artists to wider audiences within and beyond that great, but remote, state.

Currently, Boreal Books features Eva Saulitis’ Leaving Resurrection and Prayer in Wind, Margo Klass and Frank Soos’ Double Moon: Constructions and Conversations, Anne Coray’s A Measured Hush, Nicole Stellon O’Donnell’s Steam Laundry, Erin Coughlin Hollowell’s Pause, Traveler, Susanna Mishler's Termination Dust, Melina Draper's Later the House Stood Empty and Mark Rozema's Road Trip.
